Up for auction is this PRIMITIVE universal woodworking axe & adze tool.
I found this tool in very old abandoned house...
Cleaned it and handled it.
Made of high quality steel.
MORE THAN 100 YEARS OLD TOOL!
The tool is used to hew posts and beams in traditional carpentry and today the adze is also used by sculptors, wood carvers.

"THE TWIBIL could be used for hollowing out trunks for feeding trough and trencher bowl. use the one beak to soften it up and the other to remove the material. It is very useful in making fence posts with the chopped through mortises for the fence rails to slip into. Also used to make the fence rails and taper them down so that two end will fit in the same slot (from each side)" |
